Party girl checklist: The Instagram inspirations
Date: 20 october 2016

The perfect evening-out look—from makeup and hair to ensemble and accessories—takes some work. Luckily we have a list of hotshot gurus to serve up inspiration and help get your party started - By Parizaad Khan Sethi

The essential: An Insta feed that helps you dream

Inspiration can come from the unlikeliest places, but for us, it’s often beamed down directly though our Instagram feed. Curate yours so that when you’re getting in the party mood, you’ll have the most cutting-edge references all in place

1

Gigi Hadid (@gigihadid)
Everyone’s favourite model of the moment gets our vote because a) her tousled beachy waves exemplify every hair goal we’ve ever had b) she gets to work with the best in the makeup and hair biz, and serves up mucho makeup inspo c) she’s got major game in the pout, smize and pose departments, and we’re taking lessons.

2

Zana Roberts
Rassi (@zanarassi)

Everyone’s favourite model of the moment gets our vote because a) her tousled beachy waves exemplify every hair goal we’ve ever had b) she gets to work with the best in the makeup and hair biz, and serves up mucho makeup inspo c) she’s got major game in the pout, smize and pose departments, and we’re taking lessons.

3

Coveteur (@coveteur)
Be prepared for sensory (and accessory) overload—The Coveteur is a fashion voyeur’s dream. This website and Insta, raids the closets and wardrobes of stylish It girls and boys. After a few hours browsing their feed, you’ll have a laundry list of key pieces you HAVE to acquire, will have ID’d your fashion spirit animal from the list of people they have featured, and your shoes will have shifted from your closet to your bookshelf.

4

Namrata Soni
(@namratasoni)

Namrata Soni, one of India’s top makeup artists has an Instagram worthy of her position. She jet-sets around the globe with Sonam Kapoor, crafting razor-sharp cat eyes and some of the best braided hairstyles we’ve seen. Plus, she regularly features her beautifully made-up bridal clients and editorial work. Her feed is poetry in makeup form.

5

Sonam Kapoor
(@sonamkapoor)

Chances are if you’re on Instagram, you’re following Sonam. Run through her feed for fashion, makeup and hair inspo when you have a huge red carpet event coming up on your calendar. (Who’re we kidding—we’re all more likely to be scrolling through on a Tuesday evening after doing a belly-flop on the couch.) That works just as well.

6

Lisa Eldridge
(@lisaeldridgemakeup)

Get ready to be schooled in the history of makeup, but more so, spruce up your kit because Lisa Eldridge’s Instagram is a treasure trove of makeup inspiration that will take you from date to disco. The UK-based celeb makeup artist also has a super-popular YouTube channel where she deftly demonstrates how to copy the looks she creates on her A-list clients. You won’t need any blogger-created makeup tutorials after watching her.

7

Naomi Campbell
(@iamnaomicampbell)

A world in which Naomi Campbell is not relevant is not one in which we want to exist. The original supermodel has transitioned effortlessly from an analog world into the digital realm, and continues to show mortals what true fashion royalty looks like. Browsing through her pictures makes us want to slip into a slinky dress slit up to the neck, highlight the hell out of our clavicles and seek out the hottest party in town. If she doesn’t do the same for you, you might just be dead inside.
