The Lakme Fashion Week's Winter/Festive 2016 extravaganza may have ended but the effects linger on. From Manish Malhotra’s glittery ensembles to Sabyasachi Mukherjee's opulent grand finale, there was no dearth of options for the modern bride.  Many of the star muses including Shilpa Shetty, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Radhika Apte stunned us with their grace and poise. Presenting five of our favorite looks.

Manish Malhotra’s glittering new collection is perfect to add a sparkle to pre-wedding functions including the sangeet and mehendi. Shraddha Kapoor looked stunning in a resplendent deep green velvet lehenga paired with a botanical applique-embroidered nude-toned crop blouse. Though her “speedy Gonzales” walk on the ramp gave us very little time to absorb the full impact of her look, it had an elegant and no-fuss appeal. Think of it as the pretty runaway bride look!

Tarun Tahiliani's collection was a breathtaking aria of drama and sensuality. Kangana Ranaut as the showstopper looked absolutely stunning. The maxi black satin skirt was paired with a black top that was enhanced with a red embellished jacket. I love how he chose the neutral Gothic feel and teamed it with a dash of Indian. A look like this will never miss from making an artsy statement. Looking for an unforgettable look? This one’s for you!

Rustom star Ileana D’Cruz's beautiful brown lehenga with an ornate gold embroidered hemline, golden blouse and long floor length chiffon embellished cape was one of my favorites. This magical look called ‘Arcadia’ by Ridhi Mehra unleashed shades of teal green juxtaposed with navy, eggplant, ivory and black. These colors are the upcoming festive season’s top picks. Check out your makeup essentials to complement this look.

Drama, sensational colors and mind-blowing embellishments were the mainstay of Shantanu and Nikhil’s collection romantically titled "The Matador's Mistress". Their couture gowns left women in the audience speechless  as models resplendent in shades of flame red, burnt blue, emerald green and dark plum embellished with intricate tonal and rich gold embroidery floated down the runway. Malaika Arora Khan glided down the ramp in a cut-out at the waist, long-sleeved black mermaid style gown with gold bead work. Side swept hair and a beautiful smoky eye completed her uber chic look.

All women and nothing for the men would be unjust to our male flock. With men’s fashion leaping a whole new level Kunal Rawal showcased his collection titled 'Role Play' and B-Town heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor turned show stopper for him. Kunal’s modern take on the sherwani and shorter versions of the Pathani kurta were also displayed on the ramp. Staples like Bundis and jackets appeared periodically in the show to give a more comprehensive look to men’s fashion requirements. I vote for this collection to be spotted on the trending politico of the country.
