Four winning LFW ramp looks decoded
Smoky eyes, crimson pouts, rosy glows and more.
As the Official Beauty Blogger for Lakme Fashion Week, I got a first-hand peek at the makeup green rooms backstage and saw all the products that were used to create the glam looks for the glitzy ahows.
The statement for this season was inspired by Royalty and that was reflected not just in the outfits but in the makeup as well. Rich reds, wine and burgundy lips, metallic eyes and glowing bronzed skin were the keytrends that dominated the ramp. Here’s a closer look at my Top Four winning looks of the season with a quick breakdown of how you can create the looks using Lakme products.
Red Lips with Dramatic Liner
For this look, the makeup artists used Lakme Absolute Ultimate Kohl to draw an exaggerated winged liner along the lower edge of the eyes. This was paired with bronzed glowing skin using Lakme Absolute Sun kissed Bronzer and glamorous glossy red lip. To achieve this lip, the artists used the new Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist in shade Berry Cherry.
Natural, Glowing Beauty
A natural, healthy look that brings a rosy glow to your complexion always looks great and suits everyone. To achieve this look, prep your skin first with moisturizer and apply your regular foundation. Now add that that healthy glow using a highlighter like Lakme Absolute Moon Lit Highlighter. Suck in your cheeks and brush the formula from the hollow of your cheeks towards the temples and then on the apples of your cheeks. You can also use the same highlighter all over the eye lids for a soft shimmery look. For the lips, try a neutral pink like Lakme 9-to-5 Lipstick (shade Pink Slip) and top it with a sheer pink gloss like Lakme Absolute Plump n Shine lip gloss (shade Rose Shine) if you are fair or shade Pink Shine if you have a duskier skin tone.
Metallic Smoky Eyes with Nude Lips
Metallics are a huge trend this season and the best way to sport this trend is in a smoky look. Apply a smoke base on the eyes using a smudgy kohl pencil like the Lakme Satin Kajal and top it with a copper colored shimmery eye shadow. Check out the dark shade from Lakme Absolute eye color baked shadow. For the lips, you can use a nude lipstick like the Lakme 9-to-5 Lipstick (shadeToffee Nexus). Apply it lightly as a stain and top it with Lakme Absolute Plump n Shine Lip Gloss (shade Beige Shine).
Vintage Opulence (Grand Finale look)
The look for the Grand Finale by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee was inspired by the new Lakme Absolute Royale collection. The eyes were heavily smoked out with black kohl and the lips were a deep wine red. To recreate this look, you will need a kohl like the Lakme Absolute Ultimate Kohl which can be smudged all over the lid and lower lash line to get this look. The skin is quite matte and clean. Lakme Absolute Matte lipstick Classic Rose was used for the lips here. Apply the lip color with a lip brush and then blot and reapply to get the deep intense color.
