Grooming products for a sweat-free summer
Talk to any guy and he’ll tell you his worst nightmare is showing up with for an important meeting or date with giant sweat marks under his armpits. Sure, sweating is the best way to cool off and get rid of toxins but only if you’re a runner or stuck in a sauna. Arriving late to a presentation with a soaked shirt, however, isn’t such a great place to be. Luckily for you, we’ve shortlisted some hardworking sweat busters that will help you take charge and stay cool.
If you’ve spent half your morning pinned to a leather car seat stuck in traffic, chances are the minute you get out, your shirt will be stuck to your back swathed in sweat. Well, it’s time to take charge. Give your back the same treatment you give your armpits. Spray on an effective antiperspirant like Gillette Antiperspirant/ Deodorant Cool Wave Clear Gel. After all, sweat glands work the same way, no matter where they are on your body, so what works for your armpits works on your back too!
The armpits are a hotbed of perspiration, and all that underarm hair doesn’t help. When sweat comes in contact with the bacteria that lives in hair, the odor is anything but pleasant. Dousing yourself in cologne is not the answer because sweat strengthens its scent to create a nauseating stench. Tackle armpit sweat with a soft-solid antiperspirant and NOT a deodorant. There's a BIG difference. Deodorants don't prevent sweating, they just reduce odor. We suggest quick drying Natio Fresh Antiperspirant Deodorant For Men. Apply to dry skin and gently massage the formula into skin.
Since feet are usually shod, sweat doesn’t evaporate normally, rapidly becoming smelly. Warm moisture also encourages the growth of the fungi that can cause ‘athlete’s foot’, leading to that ‘cheesy’ smell. Ugh… For starters only wear comfy cotton socks and change them every day. Air your shoes regularly. Soak feet in warm water with a few drops of Tea Tree Oil (HealthVit Aroma Tea Tree Essential Oil), and dust some anti-fungal Clotrimazole Dusting Powder between toes after drying feet thoroughly.
Just because you sweat in summer doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use sunscreen or moisturizer. In the summer, switch to a light facial moisturizer like VLCC Men Active Light Fairness Moisturiser, an oil-free formula that works against skin darkening, reduces dark spots and sun protects. It won't clog your pores and the Mulberry, Mint Leaf Extracts will pull good moisture into the skin and ward off sweat and oil.
It’s an embarrassing but very real problem in summer months. Sweat can cause uncomfortable chafing, and you need a formula like Nivea Pure Talc. Sprinkle liberally after drying the area thoroughly. It contains soothing ingredients Limonene and Citronell that soften and smoothen skin, reducing rashes and chafing.
