Lipsticks to fall in love with
If you really want to wear a red lipstick, find one that goes with your undertone. To know more about your undertone click here. Increasingly brides are straying from obvious bold reds and opting for reds with coral-orange undertones. If pink is your secret weapon choose a dusty, soft shade of pink that looks natural. This tint goes beautifully with dusky complexions. Pair that with dark eye makeup for stunning effect. You might want to also try orange lipstick or gloss to brighten up the face, it looks wonderful, modern
All about eye makeup
Forget traditional smoky black eyes; today brides are willing to experiment with eye liners in navy blue, forest green and gold. If you’re planning a day wedding, make sure your makeup is less dramatic and accentuates just one feature. Avoid dark eye shadow shades like maroon, and instead highlight your eyes with thick gel eyeliner in black or blue. Every bride should carry three basic eye shadows that suit most outfits; a bronzy gold, black and cranberry.
Personally, I love to play up my brides’ eyes with false lashes. You can choose from a host of lashes; a full set that gives a dramatic look, individual lashes that are placed on a few spots, or corner lashes that are placed at the end of your lash line to open up the eyes. Meanwhile, if you have thick, long lashes, forget about falsies and just curl your lashes with two to three coats of mascara.
Airbrush Makeup 101
I highly recommend airbrushing for brides. Essentially, airbrushing is a technique that uses an air brush gun to apply liquid foundation to the face. When the nozzle is pulled, foundation mixes with the oxygen in the air and lands on the skin. This oxidizes the foundation even before it reaches the skin so that you can see the true color of the foundation the second it lands on skin. Ordinarily, foundations require 15-20 minutes to set on skin. Airbrushed foundation gives a beautiful, polished, porcelain effect to skin. The best part; the finish is never cakey or heavy and the foundation mix can be customized to your skin type.
Pre bridal treatments
Looking stunning on your wedding day requires some planning. The celeb artist says besides basic waxing and threading, an ideal pre-bridal beauty package should include hair spa treatments, a relaxing head and body massage, and a manicure/ pedicure with a neutral shade of nail paint that goes with all outfits. Have a facial before your wedding by all means but avoid cleanups right before your wedding day to prevent breakouts. While nothing can lighten skin a good concealer and corrector can fix blemishes and under-eye circles. Start using a good under eye cream a few months before your wedding to let it work its magic. A hair shine treatment is highly recommended so that your strands are nourished and prepped for all that styling during your wedding week. Straightening or relaxing is recommended only for brides with very frizzy hair, otherwise it’s best to work with the natural texture of your strands.
