Best Bridal Makeup Artist Looks

A wedding lasts for just a day but those pictures baby, they last a lifetime. One of my biggest fears is a picture of me with makeup so gaudy that ten years from now I just want to rip it off the walls and dump it into the darkest dungeons. The ideal bridal look should exude the perfect balance between current trends and a drizzle of elegant eloquence for it to be a classic. So, if you are a soon to be Mrs. and are looking for a makeup look that won’t haunt you for the rest of your foreseeable future, we’ve got the biggest names in the industry to help you with a look that’ll leave people breathless every time they look at you on THE day and even those pictures for decades to come.

Here are the latest bridal makeup tips and trends from experts in the industry:

Wedding makeup artist- Namrata Soni

1. Namrata Soni

Eyes: When all eyes are on you, make sure your eyes are fluttering perfection. Namrata predicts, "Chrome, metallic shades are going to be huge. Silver, gold and copper will work wonders. Colored kohls in shades like indigo blue, forest green, soft gold or a chocolate brown look great too". So, add a subtle sparkle to your lids with a delicate hint of oomph with a liner and mascara or even falsies for that doll-esque drama.

Lips: Bold reds are so passé. Namrata recommends, "A nude lippie with a subtle touch of pink is ideal. A rose-pink lipstick matches almost any color outfit the bride chooses to wear. As long as the nude has a tint of pink, her face will never look sallow".

Skin: A glowing bride needs skin that is luminous. Namrata says, "The easiest way is to ensure buying makeup specifically formulated for a fresh, dewy-finished face. I sometimes use petroleum jelly on the high points of the bride’s face for a subtle glow".

Pro Tip - "Always use water-proof and smudge-proof makeup. Invest in a hydrating setting spray as it doesn’t allow makeup to transfer and remember to set it with loose powder last longer"

2. Elton Fernandez

Eyes: Elton is known to accentuate the eyes of celebrities like Aditi Rao Hydari and Diana Penty with muted metallics and lets lush lashes work their magic. For his brides he suggests, “A dark-hued, potent mascara for the eyes and wear your attitude like never-before”.

Lips: When asked which product he finds the most overrated, he exclaims, “Red lipstick. Go in for softer, muted hues that match your personality perfectly”. Metallic lips are prefect to bring that pearlescent look together.

Skin: A huge believer of the glow, Elton dramatically dispels highlighter and contour to give his brides a statue-esque chisel. He says, “Due to the flash, sometimes the bride looks too white and pale. To avoid this unwanted hassle, strobe, color correct and contour to add depth and dimension to the face and neck”.

Pro Tip - “Bridezilla, excess stress may lead to break-outs. Go in for hot-oil head massages regularly to destress, followed by relieving body reflexology. This improves the blood flow and circulation while washing out unwanted toxins too”.

Wedding makeup artist- Ojas Rajani

3. Ojas Rajani

Eyes: For dusky skin tones, Ojas loves breaking the myth that pop pigments don’t suit dark skin tones. The trick she says is to perfectly blend the hues well. For fair skin tones, she recommends pinks and corals. She says, “I love decking up my warm (wheatish) skin toned brides in hues of peaches and gold.” Ojas says she personally loves recommending pearly shades because they work well to highlight the natural color of your eyes.

Lips: The gloss-a-lution is here to stay and Ojas is all for it. She says, “Dark smoky eyes, a bit of shimmer and shine and glossy lips is all you need to look gorgeous”! She adds, “Lip liners are a no-no unless they are used to color the lips and to prevent lipstick from bleeding”.

Skin: There is no bigger believer of ‘Less is More’! “What you want is a natural glowing look, not a heavily ‘made up’ one. Tons of makeup doesn’t make you look pretty, in fact it makes you look tired and old,” she declares.

Pro Tip - “Be open about all your beauty needs to the artist in question and voice your ideas, making it a two-way communication. Match your makeup to strike a balance with the groom’s look”.
