Outstanding looks from Lakme Fashion Week - Day 4
Day Four at LFW was all about textiles, handloom and art. The traditional Indian sari has once again become the style statement of choice. Designers reveled in all things Indian by incorporating color and embroidery from different parts of the country to create clothes that offered a glimpse of the rich heritage of the country. Nargis Fakhri went desi for Ritu Kumar and Juhi Chawla stole the show in a Marathi avatar. Shriya Saran rocked in a pastel pink lehenga choli while Aditya Roy Kapur, Sana Khan and Lauren Gottlieb put their best fashion foot forward. The designers who set the tone for the day included Shruti Sancheti, Rahul Mishra, Shravan Kumar, Gaurang Shah, Krishna Mehta and Soumitra Mondal.
The makeup was a revelation as well. Smoky eyes and red lips ruled the ramps with a plethora of sartorial options for brides-to-be to choose from. The day ended with the inimitable and timeless style diva Ritu Kumar showing of her rich collection.
No. 1 Shruti Sancheti
Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti celebrated Indian Textile Day by showing off stylish ethnic craft and heritage The designs had printed patterns of peacocks, butas and horizontally striped silk borders
The make was fresh with soft smoky eyes. Voluminous lashes ,high cheek bones and shocking red lips. This was the most quintessential look.
The hair was pulled back with a sharp center parting and low bun. Make sure you splash some gel on a comb and run it over your hair once its done to give it firm hold and shiny gloss.
No. 2: Rahul Mishra
Rahul Mishra bloomed on this day like a fresh flower in a green bush. His collection was filled with colour and splashes of black.
What caught my eye was how gorgeous the hair looked. Slick black straight like the models had just walk out of the River Ganges right on to the ramp. Deep black liner with heavily blushed cheeks and bronzer completed the look. Ethereal!
Finally, treat your mane to some leave-In conditioner, blow dry or let it flow au-naturale.
No. 3 Ritu Kumar
If Ritu Kumar’s show could be described in one word, it would be ‘GRAND’ ! This iconic designer knows how how to make women feel regal and special . Her clothes were an ethereal blend of the softest shades combined with gold. Each garment was nothing less than a certified piece of art!
Once again the hair was tied up in a traditional way. The makeup was almost bridal but with smoky eyes and a winged liner . Luscious coppery red lips completed the look.
