Outstanding looks from Lakme Fashion Week - Day 5
Finally the Lakmé Fashion Week-Winter/Festive 2013 came to an end. Clearly the last day was also the most memorable.
Lakmé, India’s first beauty brand was born more than 50 years ago. Over the years, Lakmé has continually offered a wide range of high performance, world-class color cosmetics, skincare products and beauty salons. Combining international technology with an in-depth understanding of the needs of Indian women, Lakmé has been at the forefront of reinventing fashion and makeup trends for decades.
The finale show was a stunner and I was glad to be present to see Sabyasachi’s Royal Collection first hand. The clothes were like dream. Last season more than half the brides I did makeup for wore Sabyasachi’s outfits. This year, the number will probably double!
The makeup for Lakmé‘s Vintage Royal look was designed by Daniel Bauer. I predict it will be a runaway hit this year.
No. 1 Archana Kochhar
Archana Kochhar opened her box of creations with a bohemian collection of warm rustic colors in shades of yellow, orange and brown, perfect for cool winter days.
The makeup was kept neutral with copper, nude and browns. Natural smoky eyes with peach and copper lipstick and a light bronzing blush completed the look.
The hair was left open with a blast volume blow dry and some models donned a bandana on their heads, enhancing the bohemian feel.
No. 2 Sabyasachi Mukherjee
Saris, lehengas and ensembles made of old Banarasi silks, Mangalagiri, khadi and velvet were the line up for Sabyasachi finale show.
Zardosi, chikan work and the old Kashmiri technique defined the Royal Princess collection that comprised 35-40 royal ensembles designed to attract the contemporary bride who want to look chic without compromising on her rich regal heritage . The colors were dark and royal; wine reds, chocolate browns and deep greens set off by cream lehengas that refreshed the palate for the next set of royal shades.

Use the LAKME ABSOLUTE WHITE INTENSE CONCEALER STICK SPF 20 over spots, blemishes or pigmented areas to create a flawless canvas.
Apply the LAKME ABSOLUTE MATTREAL SKIN NATURAL MOUSSE 16HR or LAKME PERFECT RADIANCE SKIN LIGHT FOUNDATION SPF12depending on your choice and skin type.

For the Eyes
Apply a long stay kohl like LAKME ABSOLUTE ULTIMATE KOHL in the water line, over the eye lid, into the lash line and also a little on the lower lid. Smudge it while it’s still soft and not dried out. You could also use the LAKME GLIDE ON EYE COLOUR but don’t use this in the waterline.
Fill the inner corners with the LAKME ABSOLUTE EYE SHADOW DUO – NIGHT DESIRE and blend lightly.
Top up the look with a heavy coat of LAKME EYECONIC CURLING MASCARA. Make sure the lashes don’t clump up.
For the Lips
Start by lining your lips with LAKME PERFECT DEFINITION LIP LINER PENCIL – Black Currant or Night Desire.
Slap on some LAKME ABSOLUTE MATTE LIPSTICK – Milan Red #43 and blot it lightly with a tissue. To intensify the luster and colour apply another coat.
To get a perfect blend of the liner and lipstick use a lip brush to get an overall even effect.
