What the stars wore at the Grammy's
Glitz, glamour and gorgeous gowns set the red carpet alight on music’s biggest night of the year! It’s time to unveil what the biggest stars wore to the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
Step right up to the sexiest night on TV! While the Golden Globes are almost like a talent test run for the all important Oscars, the Grammy Awards are all about that extraordinary, unexpected sartorial wow factor that keeps us at the edge of our seats. Things are just starting to heat up, so stay with us as we bare what the standout looks and styles were at this glitzy evening.
The Grammys’ red carpet always throws up some surprises as pop stars and rock bands show up in their version of rocker chic. So obviously there were as many hits as there were misses.
Giuliana Rancic was one of the first to pose on the Grammys’ red carpet, and let’s just say she set the benchmark , not least of all because she was wearing Alex Perry! The lacy orange dress boasted a halter-style neckline with sheer netting and cream edges, and fit her like a glove.
With her hair parted in the middle and pulled back into a sleek chignon, Giuliana chose to play up her big, beautiful eyes with dark brown shadows and thick black mascara. On her lips, she pulled off a beautiful peachy-orange that complemented her dress.
Katy Perry, on a somewhat literal, but beautifully ethereal music-note wore an emblazoned gown from the Valentino Couture Spring 2014 collection (ripped from the runway). She says she chose it for "music’s biggest night." How appropriate !
Katy Perry has a flair for the dramatic, which explains her larger-than-life braided bun. More than anything, we couldn’t take our eyes off her perfectly arched eyebrows, COVERGIRL makeup and a light pink mani. Her hair was in cool twists and very Elizabeth Taylor-inspired!
Ariana Grande was glowing at the Grammys!. The pint-sized singer was flawless from head-to-toe with a back-to-basics makeup look highlighted by a soft pink lip that accentuated her natural beauty. The 20-year-old singer reportedly broke down on the red carpet at the 56th annual ceremony after getting overwhelmed by over-zealous paparazzi barking orders at her.
The pretty 20-year-old has stunned us time and again with her flawless beauty. With her signature wavy half-up hairdo, Ariana accentuated her natural beauty with simple black liner and a beautiful soft pink lip. But what caught out eye was the dark cherry nails.
Taylor Swift usually sticks to her simple, ‘less is more’ dressing style, keeping it classy and old school when she hits the red carpet, but for the Grammy Awards, she went modern with a ponytail. Her hair was pulled back into a mid height ponytail curled into big ringlets. Her short bangs were roughly swept to one side to make room for stormy silver eye shadow that picked up the silvery notes of her Gucci gown.
Chrissy Teigen had no problem blowing everyone out of the water with her feisty sparkly number at the Grammys’. She blinded everyone with her sparkling, gold Johanna Johnson gown (and supermodel good looks).
Her long fishtail train, bold v-neckline and tousled, braided mane were actually perfection, too! With the highest cheek bones played up to perfection, Chrissy looked every inch the diva. The the bronzed and beautiful Chrissy wore a subdued, smoky eye and glossy, nude lip. I can only think that her loosely waved locks, and a side braid detail, were meant to add a bit of rock-star edge to all that metallic glamor.
Beyonce looks absolutely amazing in a sheer white dress while posing for the paparazzi on the red carpet. The 32-year-old popular entertainer also stopped in the press room to show off her outfit to photographers. She looked so hot, clad in a Michael Costello dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Only Queen “B” can make black eyeliner, red lips, and a choppy bob look so fresh and new. Yes we’re totally in love with her look!
Pink perhaps channeled the red carpet as her style inspiration at the Grammy Awards. The singer, who we don’t typically see in a crimson shade such as this, wore a strapless Johanna Johnson gown.
More femininely beautiful than typical rocker chic wear, the dress featured a moderate front slit and a corsetry-inspired bodice with body con seam. Her diamond, pendant earrings were spot-on. She topped off the look with her platinum-blonde mini-pompadour, heavy charcoal-tinged smoky eyes and nude lips. With a dress like this, she should walk on the red side more often.
For Paris Hilton, reserved means a rhinestone-encrusted gown with optical illusion tattoo panels, albeit one with a turtleneck, made by Haus of Milani. But that’s exactly why we love her! She always owns a Dynasty-esque style, never seeking out gallery-cool looks or modern designers. She is a true embodiment of the phrase ’be yourself’. She cut a striking figure in a nude and white lacy intricate House of Milani gown with a high collar and minimal jewelry.
A braided-tousled blonde up-do, smoky eyes laced by thick lashes and a flawlessly made up face completed her ensemble.
