We have watched her in a number of TV shows. We have admired her for her natural acting skills. Smita Bansal, now with Balika Vadhu, has become a household name. She is not just loved for the characters that she portrays, but also for her petite figure, expressive eyes, infectious smile and lovely skin tone. While a good heart and positive energy matter to her, physical appeal is no lesser an importance.
Proper cleansing is a must. Since I can’t do without makeup considering my profession, I make sure every bit of it is removed properly at the end of the shoots. I never go to sleep with my makeup on. I use M.A.C makeup remover as it suits my skin. Earlier baby oil used to work but now I prefer M.A.C.
I love myself. I like my eyes and smile. No one has said anything negative about my looks. Once it happened that there was this person who thought my face was slightly distorted. I never understood what he meant by that.
I do head massage twice a month and pamper my hair. I always have had long hair but once I decided to experiment. I got red streaks and cut it really short. I found it very funky then.
While I am in my 30’s now, I still haven’t started using any anti-aging products. As, apart from freckles, I don’t have any complications on skin, or any aging troubles!
Always with me
Lip balm and kohl, they are always in my bag. I can’t live without these two. In fact I don’t step out without applying these. Revlon kohls are wonderful. As I am not very particular about brands, Lip balm brands often change. At present, I am using The Body Shop.
Looks can’t be ignored
I strongly feel that having sharp features is really important. Although, it’s something natural, but personally I like oval face as compared to round. I am fair but I find dusky complexion more attractive. I don’t understand why people want to be fair. Dusky women always stand out. I won’t mind getting myself tanned for a show but mind it – only temporarily; I am fine with my complexion!
I am comfortable in pyjamas, t shirt and jeans. When I am outside, I like to wear salwar suits. I am not crazy about shoes or bags or other accessories. But I have an obsession for jewellery (Why not? She hails from city of Gems – Jaipur!).
Plans never work
While growing up I wanted to get married and never thought of work. Post-marriage, I thought I would quit work after having a baby. Today, I am a mother and still working. I feel things don’t go according to what you plan.
