The gift that keeps giving
Date: 15 december 2016

The Nykaa team has been more nice than naughty this year, and have made their secret beauty wishlists for Santa. Check out what beauty loot they’re praying they find under their tree and maybe you’ll get some gifting inspiration (yes, gifts for yourself are totally legit!) - By Parizaad Khan Sethi

I have an unhealthy obsession with face masks and usually try any new mask that launches. For some reason, I haven't got around to trying Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque, but I've heard great things about it. I’d love to get this for Christmas—it sounds like the perfect antidote to counter the after-effects of all the partying and weddings!

I've been looking for that perfect fragrance for the longest time! Something that's appropriate for day or night and causal dinners or black-tie events. Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino EDP is perfect—breezy enough for brunch and powerful enough to last you through a night of partying. A good perfume is an investment worth making, but I'll be really happy to find one under my Christmas tree!
I have been switching up my scents going from summer to fall/winter since as long as I can remember. Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium is one fragrance that I have been dying to try as my go-to winter option. I scored a sample at a duty-free counter and was addicted! For me, this perfume ticks all the right boxes. Vibrant and sweet, it opens with a big punch of coffee and vanilla (it reminds me of walking into Starbucks at Christmas time) and finishes off with a floral note.

Everyone has that one makeup product they have to try from every brand. Mine is concealer. So many people have recommended I try the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Flawless Concealer SPF 10. The brand claims that it is their highest coverage concealer that makes imperfections disappear and it doesn't cake, streak or settle into fine lines or pores. I'm sold!
While I love a bright lip and smouldering eye, what I've really started focusing on is making sure my skin looks and feels great. I'm a total fan of glowing skin, and would like to try and achieve that with great skincare, as opposed to a ton of makeup. I would love to find Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair range under my tree. I’ll use the Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm to take off my makeup after a long day, then follow that up with the iconic ANR Synchronized Recovery Complex II serum as a daily nighttime treat. And to prep my skin before special occasions, I’d pop on the very fun-looking ANR Concentrated Recovery Power Foil Mask.
My pick would be Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. Not only does it remove every trace of makeup, but this balm works like a genie when you are exhausted. I tried it after a long day, and it felt like all my fatigue was wiped away in seconds.

I’d also love to get Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in Plum Brandy. It’s is a gorgeous, statement-making shade for the party season.
I was never a Clinique user but I decided to try the Clinique hello great - skin 10-day pack to check how it worked on my skin. I was blown by the results, and especially loved the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. People have asked me if I’m doing something different as my skin is glowing! I’m hooked on to this product now. The other product I’d love to get for the holidays is Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium. This is an instant classic and one of my favourite fragrances. I think I could go a day without makeup but never without a good fragrance.
For the festive season, I've been eyeing the latest fragrance from Marc Jacobs: Decadence! The floral and amber notes will be perfect for the crisp air that winter brings, and how cute is that bottle?

I’m also looking forward to trying Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. I think it would be a perfect go-to product for getting my glow on this party season!
I've seen my skin take a hit in these past couple of years with age, a more hectic work schedule and a tendency to collapse into bed without a thorough night routine. The idea that I can simply put on Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate and sleep while it does the work, sounds like a wish come true! Also, holistically I'm trying to be more aware of the food I eat and products I use. The fact that this has natural active ingredients and is paraben-free makes it an all-round win for me.

My daily makeup is quite minimal and I'm all about multi-taskers. I love the idea behind Clinique Pop Oil Lip & Cheek Glow—a 'tint' with a 'pop' for my lips and cheeks is exactly up my alley. It's easy to apply, does not bulk up my handbag and is handy for touch-ups through the day.
