Himalayan Chamomile, considered a remedy for all ills by the ancient Egyptians, is a daisy-like herb renowned in folk and traditional medicine for its health, cosmetic, and nutritional benefits.
Grown in upper Himalayas, Chamomile saplings are nurtured for three weeks in nursery. The plants are then sown at a 1 feet distance. Chamomile takes around six months to flower. Care is taken that no wild-grass grows in the field during this period. The flowers are then plucked and sundried for four/five days. No stem or leaves are used for the herbal infusion.
Preparation instruction: Bring water to boil, use one teaspoon per cup and let it steep for 5 minutes or longer. Cover the pot or cup with lid to preserve the oils of the infusion. Strain and serve with plain honey.
