Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is the most common eucalyptus species in the world. It is also known as the "blue gum" or "Tasmanian Blue". The tree was originally native to Australia and is now naturalized in many countries, including Spain, China and Portugal. Its leaves are extremely rich in eucalyptol, used in cough medicines, as well as muscle-warming ointments and liniments.
The essential oil itself contains about 70-percent eucalyptol too, making it an effective remedy for chesty coughs.
The oil has a clean, medicinal and penetrating aroma, with lovely fresh notes.
Eucalyptus oil is non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing and is safe for all skin types.
