Pitter patter of raindrops on my window pane, getting cosy with a steaming cup of joe and pouring my heart out on a sheet of paper, I am sure the allusion is far from obscure. I do love the rains which I am sure you sensed from the stale cliche aforementioned (another writer romanticising the rains, perfect). However, like every other good thing, monsoons have a downside to them. I love how a good shower quenches the thirst of the soil and gives us the much-needed respite from the scorching sun but the rude awakening on Monday mornings, navigating the flooded streets of the city to reach work, getting on a train with a swarm of people can make the rainy months a bit unpleasant.
BO (body odour) during the rainy months is inevitable and something one shouldn’t shy away from acknowledging. The eccrine glands (sweat glands for the unversed) produce sweat which is essentially a combination of water, urea and ammonia to counterbalance the internal body temperature with that of our surroundings. When the perspiration on your skin encounters bacteria it naturally leads to BO, or the clinical term Bromhidrosis. To make sure that you tactfully combat the issue at hand I suggest opting for antibacterial bathing bars, lush body scrubs and most importantly staying away from synthetic fabrics and turning to light, comfortable clothing preferably made of cotton.
