7 Steps To Stubble-Free Legs : How to Remove Hair from Your Legs

by 4.7K views 4.7K views

Unwanted hair is a pain. Especially with a sexy LBD in the closet, no time to visit the salon and hairy legs staring back at you. Fret not, a razor, and a few other everyday items can transform your outer ‘damsel in distress’ into a chic diva. Just follow these few simple steps for hair removal, and sport the smoothest gams in the room.

Step 1: Exfoliate

Take some normal body scrub—even face scrub will do—on a loofah and gently exfoliate your legs to remove dead skin and open up your pores. This will scrub open ingrowths, so you get the smoothest shave possible. We like using Vedic Line Choco Deli Sugar Scrub or Natio Orange Blossom Sea Salt Scrub. Be sure to use warm water to open up pores and soften skin for better exfoliation.

Step 2: Prep your skin

After you’re done exfoliating, slather body oil or baby oil (even hair conditioner will do in a crunch) on your legs. It’s always a good idea to keep some baby oil like Johnson's Baby Oil With Vitamin E or massage oil like Bio Oil handy. This not just preps your skin, but also ensures your razor runs smoothly over your legs sans nicks and cuts.

Step 3: Foam up

It’s a good idea to use body wash, not shaving foam, to lather up your legs. Pick a formula with soothing, antibacterial ingredients like Aloe Vera. Take your pick from Himalaya Herbals Moisturizing Aloe Vera Face Wash or Anatomicals Coffee Buzz Body Cleanser

Step 4: Get, set, shave!

Take a good razor with at least three blades, like our all-time favourite Gilette Venus Razor. The pivoting head reaches every nook and corner for a perfect shave. The exfoliation has already aligned your hair, and the oil massage allows the razor to glide on skin effortlessly. Use quick, short strokes to swish off every hair in sight.

Step 5: Wash

After you’re done shaving, wash legs. Remember to use cold water for the final rinse to close pores. Pat your legs dry.

Step 6: Soothe

Though optional, follow this this step if your skin is sensitive and prone to razor burns. A thermal water spray like Avene Thermal Spring Water and La Roche-Posay Soothing & Protective Thermal Spring Water, or Vichy EAU Thermal Spa Water also soothes . This will soothe and calm your pores, and reduce the redness that sensitive skin might have suffered due to the shaving process.

Step 7: Moisturise

Apply a thick layer of body lotion, concentrating on your heels, ankles, and knees, to soften and supple up your shaved skin. You can use one with cooling and soothing key ingredients, or with those additional benefits of SPF, in case you are not the one who slathers an additional layer of sunscreen. We would recommend Neutrogena UltraSheer Body Mist SPF 30 or Lotus Herbals AloeSoft Daily Body Lotion

That’s it, folks. Though it might seem like a humongous task, but these hair removal steps will be over in a jiffy, to give you soft, smooth, and hair free legs. What’s more? A weekly pampering with these will give your legs the much-needed spa and love that these hard working beings deserve. So don’t be scared of those annoying hair now.
