Makeup guru Namrata Soni has travelled the world styling celebrities for films, getaways and red carpets. So, with the holiday season upon us again, it was only fitting that we asked her to decode her five most favorite makeup looks. Whether you’re dining in Paris, getting lost in Harajuku or fleeing the heat in frosty Kashmir, here’s five jet-setting looks to see you from border to border.

1. A Parisian Affair

What is it about French women? They’re alluring, effortlessly chic and have that certain je ne sais quoi. For Soni, the Parisian appeal lies in being classic and understated, so you definitely won’t find a contour tutorial here. Instead, she suggests a Bardot-style winged eye, timeless red lipstick and a face highlighted well enough to give the Eiffel Tower a run for its money.

Post card from Paris: What’s classier than red lipstick? A flawless, glowing face. French girl beauty is all about enhancing your natural features, so make sure to take your vitamins, prime, conceal and correct.

2. Kickin’ It At Coachella

Music festivals are a great opportunity to unleash your inner unicorn without offending the beauty police. Anything goes! To get your Coachella look on point, Namrata suggests packing some gorgeous, pigmented glitter on your lids or being even more risqué with a glittery lip in a vibrant orange, pink or red. Keep the sweat off your nape with microbraids, and use flash body and face tattoos to spruce up your festival look, she suggests.

For an alternative eye: If you’re not gaga for glitter, indulge your inner artist with the latest dotted-eye trend, a quirky but understated option.

3. Queen Of The Coast

If you’re spending your summer sipping pina coladas on a tropical island, Namrata suggests embracing your inner island goddess with a face that glows as bright as the sun. First off, “Always wear sunscreen!” urges Namrata. “Makeup doesn’t matter much if you don’t take care of your skin.” Second, she recommends using tinted moisturizer in lieu of foundation, and mixing liquid luminizer with your BB cream for a sheer lit-from-within glow.

“Add a pop of color with eyeliners in forest green or indigo blue, and a tinted lip balm to color your pout,” she suggests.

No-stress tresses: For your hair, a messy braid or loose hair misted and texturized with sea salt spray is just what the sea gods ordered.

4. Pop Art Geisha

Tokyo is all about quirkiness, color and doll-like delicacy, so if you ever find yourself strolling around Shinjuku or lounging at a cat cafe, make sure you look the part. Namrata loves white eyeliner on lids (“It suits every skin type,” she says) and colored mascara – think electric blues, greens and purples.

Give the rest of your face porcelain treatment with pink blush and a sheer lip gloss.

#TrendingInTokyo: Eyeliner tattoos are the new lazy girl trend. Say goodbye to your liner woes – here’s the end of smudges, uneven lines or raccoon eyes.

5. Ice Princess

If you live near the equator, your May-daydreams probably feature snow-capped mountains, ski slopes and mulled wine by a fireplace. And if you’re making that dream a reality this summer, Namrata’s ready-to-wear winter flush is just what you need. First things first – dry skin begone! “For a dewy complexion, mix a pinch of liquid illuminator into your moisturizer before you put it on,” she recommends.

RSVP to the Winter Ball: Look a little less Heidi, Girl of the Alps and a little more Heidi Klum with hues of wine, burgundy or burnt sienna on your lips and a reverse smoky eye for some drama.
