The wait is finally over – Florence by Mills has just dropped on Nykaa. The makeup and beauty line by Stranger Things (2016) actor Millie Bobby Brown, a.k.a. our favourite Gen Z, was launched in 2019 and has since made waves on social media.
To see what the fuss was all about, I got my hands on some of the products and spent a good few days experimenting with them. Read on to know my honest take on the hero offerings, and the best Florence by Mills products to invest in vs heart (or wishlist) for later!
Oh Whale! Lip Balm – Guava & Lychee
NGL, I gravitated towards this lip balm because of the adorable packaging but stayed for the payoff. The delicious-looking balm is moisturising, glides on like a dream, and adds a subtle sheen that stays on for a while (mine stayed for about 6 hours). I tried the Guava and Lychee variant, which is a delicate pink shade. This one’s a good buy, for sure – and I’ll be trying other shades, too.

Swimming Under The Eyes Brightening Gel Pads
These brightening patches – shaped like little whales (Millie’s favourite animal!) – are the cutest under-eye patches you’ll ever use. They make (to some extent) fine lines less obvious. The sodium hyaluronate and niacinamide-soaked gel pads add a dose of hydration to make dull under-eyes plumper. However, the results are short-lived – so if you’re planning to try these, temper your expectations. While I’m not carting these for now, I will consider treating myself to the cute lil whales for a dopamine boost!

Built To Lash Lengthening Mascara
I’m all about the drama when it comes to lashes. In my obsessive quest to try out as many mascaras as possible, I reached out for the lilac tube from Millie’s brand as well. In just the first few coats, I was positively surprised – the mascara does a good job of lengthening the lashes, giving them a natural look. However, as I said earlier, I prefer some drama when it comes to mascaras, so I had to use a generous amount to create a full-flutter effect. The best part? No clumping even after multiple coats! Overall, the buildable, smudge-free formula is worth the purchase, so, obviously, I added one to my cart right away.

Dreamy Dew Moisturizer
My favourite Florence by Mills product (and also on my vanity now) is this feather-light, dewy moisturiser, which totally lives up to its name. The oil-free formula makes for a lightweight texture that absorbs like a dream. Since I have the dreadful duo of acne-prone and combination skin, the grease-free, long-lasting hydration impressed me the most. I ordered one for myself after a few days of testing – and now I also use it as a primer sometimes.

Spotlight Toner Series - Episode 1: Brighten Up
The final Florence by Mills offering I tried is the brightening toner mist, which comes in travel-friendly packaging. Formulated without alcohol and with all-natural ingredients, including cucumber and oat extracts, the toner didn’t give me a brighter complexion. However, it did add a quick dose of hydration in a few spritzes, which is the only reason I would recommend it. Since the formula seems more suited to dry skin, I will not be purchasing this one.
