When you hear skincare regimen, a hoard of nourishing and hydrating products come to your mind starting with facial oils and serums for daily use, and ending with once-a-week masks. But we often disregard one of the most important steps of a regimen – cleansing!
Why is it so important?
First, the obvious reason: cleaning your face removes build-up of oil, sebum, dirt, makeup, and pollutants. If not regularly washed off, this build-up can cause breakouts, large pores, and clogged follicles. Second, cleansing also removes sweat and dead skin which (truly) is basic hygiene.
Third, cleansing over and again allows your skin to soak up more hydration and become healthier over time. And finally, it increases the effectiveness of every other product you use on your skin.
What kind of cleansing do you need?
It truly depends on how much time you have on your hands, how much effort are you willing to put in and what kind of products suit your skin. Wet wipes are the first, most basic and quickest way to cleanse, followed by a face wash, some scrub, double cleansing products, micellar water and a lot more.
