Unless you've been living under a rock, we bet you've come across glitter-pressed lips on your social media feed. It all started when beauty maven Pat McGrath dropped a glitter lip kit bomb, and the beauty world (including us) lost it!
Gone are the days of liquid matte lipsticks, we are living for these Glitter studded lips! When fashionistas like Bella Hadid, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Shay Mitchell rocked the ruby slipper-lip, we were obsessed. So, we decided to create our own version of these bejewelled lips, and let's say our day was pretty awesome.
Here is how to get awesome, glitter lips:
- Step 1: We made sure the lips were exfoliated and moisturized with Forest Essentials Lip Scrub - Cane Sugar and Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Moisturizer SPF 15. This creates a good base and makes sure your lipstick doesn't settle in fine lines.
- Step 2: Plum lips for fall? Yes, Please! We picked the NYX Professional Makeup Simply Red Lip Cream for this step as the lipstick has a luxurious formula and has a lot of pigment, and we are all about that!
- Step 3: It's time to bring out the gloss! We went with Dazller Eterna Lustrous Lip Gloss - 504 Perfect Purple. This plumped the lips and acted as colored-glue. You can go for a sheer gloss also, if you aren't a color-gloss girl!
- Step 4: Finally, time for the shimmer. We picked the Gold shimmer dust from the Ferrarucci Diamond Glitter - 3, and dipped our flat eyeshadow brush in it. Then, we dabbed the dust on the lips (make sure the gloss is freshly applied) and the result was goddam chic. Tip: use scotch tape to clean up the edges and any stray flecks that fall off.
Review: This trend is flat-out fabulous! And, guess what, it is just in time for the festive season. You might get a little bit glitter on your teeth and hands while munching your favorite laddus, but is this trend worth it? Absolutely yes!
