Tabu’s spell binding performance in Haider has been the talk of the town, as much for her scintillating acting prowess as her youthful good looks. It proves once again why Tabu is considered one of the most gifted actresses in Bollywood. In this Vishal Bhardwaj adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Shahid Kapoor aka Haider is determined to find out what happened to his beloved father who was arrested by the armed forces. His mother, played by Tabu who essayed the role of Gertrude, and uncle Kay Kay Menon, playing Claudius, start living together and to Haider this is the ultimate betrayal of his father’s memory. His lover, Arshia, (Ophelia) is played by the ethereally beautiful Shraddha Kapoor, a wide-eyed journalist whose father is a high ranking police officer. Slowly but steadily, we come to know each of these characters as flesh-and-blood people with their flaws and strengths. However, Tabu’s character steals the show and stays with you long after the film ends. What is remarkable is that this veteran actress thinking nothing of playing mother to an actor who is just nine years younger than her.
Tabu’s beauty is inspiringly elegant. It’s not just her sharply defined features, her lustrous tresses or her quietly expressive eyes but the poise and calm with which she carries herself. While not every woman is blessed with all this, the one thing you can do is follow a sensible regime so that your skin glows with good health. There are few guarantees in life, but getting older is definitely one of them! We fully support aging gracefully, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take care of yourself. Our skin in particular, suffers the ravages of time the most. As we age, skin tends to lose its natural luster, becomes drier and before you know it fine lines and wrinkles make an appearance. However, proper skin care and makeup can combat these signs of aging. Here are some tips to have you looking younger in a matter of minutes.
1. Prim(e) and Proper
Good skin care is crucial for youthful, vibrant good looks. Whether you're 25 or 65, taking care of your skin is the simplest short and long-term solution to combat and prevent signs of aging. Use a formula like Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer that fills in fine lines, reduces the appearance of pores and smoothens and tones the skin texture. Don’t forget to apply the formula on your neck and ears!
2. Tint To Perfection
Now that your skin is primed, it’s time to apply a lightweight, moisturizing foundation. Opt for a sun defying formula like the Bodyography Tinted Moisturizer - Sun Defense, which evens out the skin tone, reduces the appearance of fine lines and gives your skin a healthy and subtle glow. The mineral formulation gives a natural, radiant and dewy finish to skin.
3. Conceal and Highlight
If you need some extra help concealing blemishes, spots, dark circles and other imperfections, use a lightweight, light-reflecting formula like Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer. Simply swipe it under your eyes, or anywhere you need to add brightness, and blend well. If you’re looking for glow-enhancing products, avoid anything too frosty or glittery because they draw extra attention to wrinkles, lines and other problem areas.
4. Add Color
One of the best ways to look younger is also the fastest! Dab some blush on your cheeks. As we get older, skin tends to become more sallow, and cheeks lose the rosy glow of youth. Look for a cream or mousse formula, like Maybelline Dream Touch Blush, which blends in effortlessly and provides a natural flush to cheeks.
5. Lift Up
Want an instant facelift without surgery? Simply apply eyeliner with a slight wing on your upper lash line. Liquid liner can appear harsh and aging, so instead opt for a pencil or gel formula, I love Lakme Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner. This long-wearing liner doesn’t smudge or settle into fine lines through the day. Finish up by applying mascara to the top lashes only. This adds to the uplifted effect. I highly recommend Max Factor Clump Defy Volumising Mascara. Choose the brown shades of both the eyeliner and mascara for a softer, more natural look.
