Ten step to create to prefect retro look.
There was something magical about yesteryear Bollywood actresses. The retro makeup, the bouffant hair, chiffon saris draped tightly over hourglass figures, at once both coy and smoldering. Who can forget the ethereal beauty of a Madhubala or the elfin charm of a Mumtaz? The golden era of Indian cinema brought to life timeless artists, talents and film legends that live on forever. Enduring beauties that held audiences spellbound with their charm, elegance and adas. Compare that to the slew of actresses today, so little to tell them apart, what with their perfect figures, beachy hair and baby doll prettiness. To celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema, I have created a very special look inspired by the signature look of some of the leading ladies of Bollywood. A classic retro look featuring a double winged liner, peachy cheeks and matching lips, the look that was made iconic by leading ladies like Sharmila Tagore, Mumtaz, Hema Malini and Waheeda Rehman.

How to create this look
Step 1: Even out your skin tone by using a medium coverage base like Revlon PhotoReady BB cream.
Step 2: Cover up areas of pigmentation with a concealer like L'Oreal Paris True Match Concealer. Don’t forget to enhance your under-eye area as well. Then enhance the under-eye area with a brightening concealer like the Lakme Absolute White Intense Concealer Stick SPF 20.
Step 3: Next set your base with a light dusting of compact powder like Colorbar Perfect Match Compact.
Step 4: To get a peach glow on your cheeks, use a peachy pink blush like the Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in Peachy Sweetie.
Step 5: Now on to the eyes. Apply a neutral eye shadow with a little shimmer all over the lids with a darker shade in the crease for some depth. I recommend the Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow in Copper Brown.
Step 6: Then apply a thin line of black liner along the upper lash line and lower lash line. Join the two lines in the inner corner to create a pointed edge. For the outer edge, wing both the lines upwards but leave a small gap in between so that the two lines are parallel in the winged part. A felt tip liner like the Colorbar Ultimate Eye Liner is great for this kind of look.
Step 7: Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I prefer Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara.
Step 8: Apply a peachy pink lipstick on your lips. Dab the color with your fingertips just to get a stain. Then apply a peachy coral lip gloss over it like the L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Gloss in Iris to get a shimmery effect.
Step 9: Finish off the look by filling in the brows with some brow powder or the Lakme Black EyeBrow Pencil to get a full, deep arch.
Step 10: Don’t forget to add a bindi to finish your Bollywood Icon look!
