With the commencement of summer, there are two things that I find extremely important. One: drinking lots of fluids and keeping myself hydrated; second: paying attention to my skin and adopting a skincare regimen that will keep it looking dewy, healthy and uber nourished—without it getting greasy and oily during the hot, humid months. Since I am always on the lookout for new products, I decided to try out the just launched Lakmé Matte Moist Range. Needless to say I was impressed. The range encompasses a toner, moisturiser and a clay mask that promises to nourish your skin, whilst keeping it matte. Sounds dreamy right?

Tone: Lakmé 9 To 5 Moist Matte Mattifying Face Toner
Infused with the goodness of Green Tea (acts as an anti-oxidant) and Witch Hazel (tighten pores), the Lakmé 9 To 5 Moist Matte Mattifying Face Toner quickly absorbs into the skin & tightens pores for a matte-looking skin.
My verdict: Post cleansing my skin, I sprayed the toner on a cotton ball and swiftly glided it all over face and neck with gently upward strokes. I did feel a very light tingly, cool feeling and my skin appeared more refreshed as if it just drank a gallon of cucumber water. The product also tightened my pores and left it looking really matte, but not dry.
Moisturize: Lakmé 9 To 5 Matte Moist Mattifying Moisturiser
Clinically proven to keep skin looking matte for 12 hours, the Lakmé 9 To 5 Matte Moist Mattifying Moisturiser encompasses a blend of Green Tea extracts and Witch Hazel that controls oil and blurs pores for moisturized, matte looking skin.
My verdict: As I started applying the moisturizer on my face and neck, I was quite taken by the light-weight formulation that melted into my skin and left no greasy residue behind. Perfect for the summer when our skin starts feeling oily!
Mask: Lakmé 9 To 5 Moist Matte Clay Face Mask
This one encompasses powerhouse ingredients such as Green Tea which is an anti-oxidant and Glycerin that is a moisturizing agent; add to that Kaolin & Bentonite Clay which helps absorb dirt and impurities — and you have a mask that removes dullness, tighten pores and keeps skin looking moisturized. PS: It’s suitable for all skin types.
My verdict: I have a thing for clay masks and this one checked all the boxes for me. After cleansing my skin, I applied it on my face and neck, avoiding the eye contour area. After 10 mins I gently massaged using my fingertips while rinsing it off with lukewarm water. My skin felt uber fresh, bright with visibly shrunk pores. PS: Unlike other clay masks, this one doesn’t dry out your skin!
