The first week into a new year leaves me perturbed without fail. The unrealistic pressure of doing right by my resolutions -eating healthy, of morphing into a new and improved person like a windup toy (overnight) — puts a damper on my mood. The days feel drab, the nights amiss the high of a celebratory spirit. And the first few days of 2023 were no different.

This is why I have been eagerly awaiting the kickstart of festivities-the 2023 edition! I can’t wait for the wave of jubilation to wash over me, the invigorating jolt to help me break free from my slump and most importantly, an excuse to launch some terrific looks. For the uninitiated, Lohri is right around the corner and is observed (on the 14th of January) in light of the winter harvest season across Northern India. Giving me just the opportunity to attempt restarting the year on a high note! (it’s never too late!) And, If you (like me) are looking for some beauty inspiration to turn heads on this joyous night of sing-alongs and dancing around a bonfire, I have come bearing good news.

I got in touch with Prableen Kaur Bhomrah, a beauty influencer with a massive fan following! I have been trailing her trajectory for a while and her unique perspective of showcasing one’s raw side to the world has always made me feel seen and validated. The creative is a force to be reckoned with, known for her stance on skin positivity and fierce beauty looks in the internet community. And there couldn’t be a better person to help us ace a glam avatar for Lohri. Ahead, we breakdown one such look donned by the digital creator. Make sure to bookmark this article for fresh festive inspiration for this year!

The following inputs are provided by Prableen

“I prefer when my base looks like  second skin, which is why I use just a hint of the Clinique concealer for my under eyes. For an evening of festivities, I fancy a flushed look and rely on the Kay Beauty Blush to help me attain the same. To bring out my eyes, I like to use the kajal from Too faced. It is long-lasting, waterproof and  smudge-proof. I finish my look with a perfect pout which I achieve by  mixing swiss beauty’s lip liner, Smashbox’s Stepping Out and Nykaa’s Chai Matte for pout perfection.”
