Let your inner princess shine through.
This gorgeous Indore girl is part of one of the most endearing love stories of all times. The doe eyed beauty Paridhi Sharma stars as Rajkumari Jodha Bai in the serial Jodha Akbar, currently being aired on Zee TV. It's an eternal love story about Mughal emperor Akbar who fell in love with an ethereal Rajput beauty Jodha. This epic sixteenth century historic drama about a political marriage turned legendary love affair produced by Balaji Telefilms has won plaudits at the Indian Television Academy Awards and Zee Rishtey Awards. Paridhi (who plays Jodha) was nominated for the 'Best Actress in Leading Role' category. Although she didn't win, the cute actress has made a lasting impression on millions of viewers as beloved Princess Jodha even though her small screen debut was with Tere Mere Sapne in 2010.
Apparently Paridhi won the coveted role after a tough audition. It’s believed that Ekta Kapoor auditioned over 7,000 hopefuls before finally giving Paridhi the green light. You may wonder what’s so special about Paridhi Sharma. Well, she has a princess like delicate, polished charm. The simple Rajasthani style lehenga-saris and polki jewelry she wears on the show could give the real Jodha a run for her money! Her makeup is opulent yet neat. You can see the use of a single eye shadow blended well to give an ombré -effect, finishing up with a flicked-eyeliner for a classic, timeless look. The cheeks are rosy, highlighted with a pearly pink blush to give her skin illuminant radiance.
Check out how you too can use a single eye-shadow to get the blended ombré finished look. Then finish up with a simple black eye-liner.
Blend, then blend some more
Using a single eye shadow is tricky. It’s tough to get depth and contour using just one shade of eye shadow all over eyelids. Typically makeup artistes will tell you that you need a series of light, medium and dark shades to contour. Therefore if you’re using just a single shade you have to blend well. A little depth can be added using your regular kohl/kajal pencil. Start by applying L'Oreal Paris Kajal Magique on the upper lash line. You need not be perfect as you will be smudging it later. After applying it, blend the kohl with your fingertips or a blending eye brush to create a smudged smoky effect.
I am using a creamy crayon eye shadow, Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick 24H Water Proof in Paranoid Purple all over the lids and crease. The creamy formula is easy to blend and the color payout is great. Another plus, it doesn’t streak or fade.
To get the perfect ombré blended effect without using another eye shadow all you need is the magic touch of your fingers. Blend the eye shadow with your finger (or blending brush) all over lids and crease area working upwards. Apply a little more eye shadow in the crease and repeat blending till you get the desired ombré effect.
Next, apply kohl on you lower lash line flicking it outwards and upwards giving an uplifting catty look. Kohl was favorite beauty product even during the Mughal era. Use Maybelline The Colossal Kajal for a smudge-free, long stay look. Finally, ladle on some mascara. Mascara has the ability to transforms your peepers from dull-sleepy to bright and awakened. Pick a good volumising mascara like Colorbar Zoom & Whoosh Mascara for the final finishing touch.
