Shine like the radiant star of Bharat ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap.
This Indian historic fictional drama based on the life of Maharana Pratap, the valiant Rajput king of Mewar (played by Faisal Khan), has had viewers riveted to his feisty battles against Afghan, Mughal and Turkish invaders. But what caught our fancy in this elaborate Sony Entertainment Television India show was dusky beauty Rajshri Thakur who enacts the role of the brave and selfless Queen Jaivantabai. A television veteran, she first wowed viewers with her role as Saloni in Saat Phere.
Maharani Jaivantabai, the brave Rajput Queen and mother of Maharana Pratap Singh, was respected for her idealism and chivalry. An ardent Lord Krishna devotee, she mentored and inspired the young Pratap by narrating folktales of valor and honor, helping to shape his destiny as the future leader and defender of his people. Her husband, Maharana Udai Singh II, often sought her advice on administrative issues and respected her as the first queen but never gave her the love and affection he poured on the younger consort, Queen Bhatiyani. Yet Maharani Jaivantabai retained her sense of dignity, a facet that shines through in her overall look and demeanor.
Her look in the serial is very clean yet glamorous. Her dusky complexion is flawlessly highlighted to give her a beautiful radiant look. Well-groomed eyebrows and precisely applied black liner makes her dark eyes stand out. The look is neat and polished with soft neutral lips and bronzed cheeks. I really loved the traditional Rajasthani polki jewelry she sports, that perfectly complement her attire.
You too can look as ethereally pretty and polished as Maharani Jaivantabai in a few easy steps.
Captivating eyes that speak of courage
Black eyes are mysterious and exotic. Rajshri's eyes are beautifully made up with thick black eyeliner that's applied on both the upper and lower lash lines. A single bronze gold eye shadow all over the lids highlights the eyes. You could try any of the shades from Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow, Copperbrown series for a pretty ethnic look. I will recommend using a black felt tip liner like Colorbar Ultimate Eye Liner for more precise and controlled application. Don't smudge the liner as neat and clean lines are the highlight of her overall makeup. Complete the look with volumising mascara like Rimmel Extra Super Lash Building Mascara.
Fresh and radiant summer glow
Rajshri is proud of her dusky complexion and this should inspire every girl to flaunt healthy, radiant skin rather than crave for a fairer complexion. Follow a good skin care routine depending on your skin type. Hydrate cleansed skin with a moisturizer suited to your skin type. For a flawless complexion, first apply Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Foundation using a foundation brush in even strokes downwards and outwards starting from the middle of the face. Set the foundation with NYX Professional Makeup HD Finishing Powder. Finally, dust on Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in Ambre D-or on the cheeks for a radiant, dewy finish.
Everyday neutral lips
Neutral lips are great for natural summery look and also a classic on the ramp. Soft neutral lips look good on all skin tones. If you have pigmented lips, I'd advise you to choose a neutral lip pencil like Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Liner Beige Pinkand apply it all over lips to even out pigmentation and make your lipstick last longer. Apply a neutral pink lipstick that suit your skin tone evenly all over lips. My current favorite is L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick, Shade 102 Mauve Cherie that gives a beautiful natural looking lip color with healthy shine.
