I’m going to start off with some facts.  Bakuchiol (pronounced buh-KOO-chee-all) is a widely popular ingredient known for it’s reverse-aging properties. Most often referred to as the plant-based cousin of retinol, if you’re looking for something that’s nice to allergy-prone skin (like eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis)—you’ve landed on the right article. Plus, it’s natural, clean and a great option if you shop vegan. That said, I got the opportunity to try and review a few bakuchiol-based products by Lotus Organics and I was actually very impressed with the outcome. Below, how I feel personally about them.

1. Lotus Organics+ Bakuchiol Plant Retinol Super Serum

I’ve been trying to work on the pigmentation around my mouth for a while, but nothing really worked. The day I started applying this plant-based serum, I visibly noticed a difference. Souped with organic bakuchiol and horse chestnut, this formula claims to even out skin tone (which it does). My skin looks healthier than before and it worked a bit on my pores too.

I use this oil before I start my day and right before I hit the bed. It promotes collagen production and in turn improves the texture of the skin. What I really appreciate is its ability to prevent water loss from my skin sheet. I have extremely dry skin, so I need to preserve all that moisture to make sure my skin looks and feels healthy. This facial oil does exactly that for me. Last week, the glow stayed on for a whole day (no reapplication) and compliments that poured in felt kinda made day. I see why the brand calls it a miracle.

3. Lotus Organics+ Bakuchiol Plant Retinol Night Cream

Made with a rich dose of organic bakuchiol and horse chestnut oil, I call this night elixir ‘therapy for your skin’.  This lush cream has zero artificial color or fragrance (which I appreciate), it protects the elasticity of my skin and it works for everyone-it’s suitable for all skin types. Oh, and it’s also free from preservatives, parabens and sulphates. So fresh, so clean.

4. Lotus Organics+ Bakuchiol Plant Retinol Crème

So, this formula is more of a day cream. It’s very hydrating and penetrates right into your skin to give you a beautiful, moisturized glow. I really like it when my skin looks healthy, so I make sure I slap this on right after applying the facial oil every single morning for faster results. It also targets dark spots and fine lines. So if you’re looking for a reliable formula for all the concerns mentioned, I highly recommend you get your hands on this product, or all four if you ask me—because this bakuchiol line actually delivers what it promises.
