You’re at work and you’re scrolling through your instagram feed and the only posts you’re seeing are exotic tropical locations and celebrities with gorgeous, luminescent skin. You’ve been *manifesting* this sun-kissed look but have no plans to hit the beach. But, don’t worry, we’ve reached out to celebrity MUA Arshis Javeri to get the complete low down on how to look like a sun-kissed goddess sans the beach time. Get ready to create the look that Alia Bhatt and Jahnvi Kapoor are obsessed with. Take notes…
Q1. How do you prep your skin for the perfect sun-kissed glow?
Arshis Javeri: Hydration is the key to achieving any kind of glow. Make sure you’re hydrated inside out, drink enough water to achieve that. Next, for your skin, recharge it with a serum to get that supple glow and follow it up with a moisturiser for added hydration. As part of the prep, I like to add a drop of liquid highlighter or bronzer depending on the skin tone and required effect. I apply that on the high points of the face where the sunlight hits. A bronze-y liquid blush can also help you get the desired effect for certain skin tones.
Q2. What are the 5 essential products you need to achieve this look?
Arshis Javeri: Moisturiser, serum or a nourishing face oil, liquid highlighter, liquid or cream bronzer or a terracotta blush, and a high gloss finishing spray.

Q3. What are the steps to get the look?
Arshis Javeri:
Step 1 - Start with a hydrating face mask.
Step 2 - Use a glow giving serum to achieve that dewy finish.
Step 3 - Follow that up with a lightweight moisturiser, and give your skin some time to absorb it.
Step 4 - Now use the same serum, mix a drop of the liquid bronzer or your terracotta blush with it. Apply it on the high points of your face to get that luminescent effect.

Q4. What are some quick tips to keep in mind?
Arshis Javeri:
- SPF is non-negotiable whether you’re staying indoors or outdoors.
- Make sure to cleanse, tone, and hydrate your skin well after a long day in the sun.
- When creating this makeup look, use a terracotta blush or bronzer on the eyes, and a dab of highlighter in the inner corners. Follow that up with a weather-proof mascara to complete the look.
