If there’s any brand that I started using early in my teenage years and haven’t stopped since, it’s Vaseline. Be it the petroleum jelly or their body lotions, nothing spells moisturisation for me like Vaseline. While I do have combination skin on my face, my limbs tend to get very dry, irrespective of the weather. No prizes for guessing which product has a permanent spot in my care shelf — it’s a body lotion. Recently, I was introduced to Vaseline’s new Gluta-Hya range of lotions, and safe to say, it’s everything I’m looking for in a body lotion. The science behind these body lotions is what makes them so unique, and shows results from the first use. I used these lotions for 2 weeks and here’s what I thought.

My experience:
This unique serum-in-lotion formulation has a light, non-sticky texture, unlike most body lotions that I have used, which have a rich, creamy texture, and can feel heavy on the skin. To begin with, I started with a small amount of product and applied it on parts of the skin that tend to get the driest. I had to go in with a little more product to make the best of the lotion, but the end result was as expected. My limbs felt smoother and moisturised almost instantly. The divine fragrance of the product is just an added plus point to make anyone want to add it to their routine. This lotion also aids in brightening the skin, something that I may not be able to testify for. But, if you’re looking for a lotion just to moisturise well, then this product is a great pick.

My experience:
Another unique formulation from the Gluta-Hya range, the texture of this lotion is similar to its flawless glow counterpart, with a near similar fragrance as well. The difference between the two lies in the ingredients it contains. The 10 times active niacinamide has a dual action of boosting hydration and improving skin’s texture to deliver smoother-looking skin. I used this lotion on my knees to understand its moisturising effects best. It moisturises the dry skin on the knees almost instantly, but the brightening might take a little longer than just the first few uses. Overall, this extraordinary serum in lotion formulation, infused with active ingredients delivers what it promises.
My final thoughts...
If I had to choose one of two products from this range, I would pick the Dewy Radiance formula. It showed visible results on my skin in a short span of time, and its lightweight texture makes it ideal to use even on hot, humid days. What’s more? It’s priced at ₹300 only and won’t make a dent in your pocket.
Use these lotions as you would a regular one; use it before you hit the bed, after exfoliation and shaving, after a shower, and around your nail cuticles to keep them hydrated. Another way of using these lotions could be by mixing in some shimmer-y powder to give your skin that added glow-y effect.
