The three beauty winners from last week’s SAG awards—and how you can get their red carpet looks -By Parizaad Khan Sethi

We wait all year for awards season, that smorgasbord of dazzling stars in couture gowns and fabulous jewels. Some of those looks are forever burned into our psyche and become the touchstone by which all future appearances are measured. No one’s ever forgotten Bjork’s swan dress, and JLo’s tropical-print Versace will never be outdone.
Award shows also provide us with year-long makeup and hair inspiration. Though many stars opt for simple makeup or looks that conform to prevalent beauty standards, there are the occasional flashes of brilliance. We’re always tracking the red carpet for the makeup version of the swan dress.
Till that comes along, these standout looks from the Screen Actors Guild Awards have fired up our imagination.

Quite a few stars had their eyeshadow mirroring their gown’s hue—Emily Blunt went rose gold, while Ellie Kemper opted for midnight blue. But the most eye-popping of those matchy-matchy pairings was actor Sophia Bush’s intense pink-purple eye job. Makeup artist Patrick Ta used blushes and even a matte lipstick to achieve those deep shades. You need not go to those lengths though, as the Ciaté London 9 Shade Eyeshadow Palette in Fun can get the job done just fine.

Bronzed skin and fiery lips should be every olive-skinned girl’s signature look. Teigen’s makeup mama Mary Phillips used a few different foundation shades to get that bronzed depth of colour to her skin. If you don’t have a makeup pro at hand, we recommend taking a fluffy brush and dusting Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder across the cheekbones, temples, down the nose and on the chin, to mimic a St Tropez tan. Phillips achieved Teigen’s power pout by applying the iconic orangey-red M.A.C Lipstick Lady Danger. We can only say Teigen lived up to the lipstick’s name.

Almost every actor on the red carpet seemed to have gotten the memo that pin-straight hair is back, and we loved Kerry Washington rocking this ‘do. Her poppin’ smoky eye, however, really got us talking—it’s been ages since we’ve gotten excited about a smoked-out eye. M.A.C Eye Shadow X15 palette in Cool Neutral has all the pearlescent and matt shades needed to achieve this superior smoky situation. Just add Estée Lauder Double Wear Infinite Water Proof Eyeliner in Kohl Noir and lashes. Lots and lots of lashes.
