Transforming lives, spreading joy

Transforming lives through skilled beauty training

We partnered with Labournet in an effort to bring more young women into the mainstream workforce by making them skilled beauty professionals. These young women, hailing from low-income communities have the ambition to become independent and contributing members of society but at times lack the right opportunities to do so. With two centers in Bangalore and Guwahati each fully equipped with beauty stations for practical sessions, we are providing months-long beginners training and internship to women who will then go on to work at beauty salons in local neighborhoods, unlocking a new career for more women to explore and grow into.

LabourNet operates at the intersection of social impact and business performance. They link the unemployed to work opportunities, the under-employed to skilling opportunities, and boost productivity to fuel business opportunities. By finding and grooming the right talent, infusing technology at the right points, interlinking ecosystems of businesses, and managing work processes, LabourNet helps companies scale exponentially.

Empowering the future of consumer technology

Nykaa Foundation has partnered with the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) Endowment Fund to establish the Nykaa Chair in Consumer Technology. This collaborative programme, spanning three years, will focus on advancing research and education in the field of marketing, particularly emphasizing the scientific application of digital, social, and mobile technologies. The chair aims to provide valuable insights into the impact of these technologies on business models, customer behaviour, and broader social changes. Additionally, it will explore the incorporation of AI and machine learning in a rapidly evolving marketplace. The chair's research will also delve into economic and statistical models, examining the role of the internet and new media on consumer and firm behaviour, while also addressing the future of privacy-preserving digital advertising.

The IIMA Endowment Fund is a first-of-its-kind initiative at any major management institute in the country. Setup in 2020 by 10 like-minded alumni to help solidify IIMA’s prominence in thought leadership, research, and academic excellence globally, the Fund is now the Institute's dedicated philanthropic and fundraising arm for all donations to IIMA. IIMA EF has helped the Institute raise over INR 160 crore of commitments with more opportunities in the pipeline. In addition, IIMA EF also assists IIMA in managing donor relations and reporting for erstwhile donations (of over INR 250 crores). The IIMA EF recognizes and further enables alumni and corporate giving to the Institute through a formal, transparent and professionally run setup.

Treating clubfoot and empowering children's health

In collaboration with the Anushkaa Foundation for Eliminating Clubfoot (AFEC), we are dedicated to transforming the lives of 100 children across India in FY 2023 by treating their clubfoot condition. Clubfoot, affecting 1 in 800 newborns, causes the inward turning of one or both feet. Our partnership with AFEC aligns with the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), which prioritises early identification and intervention for children's health. By training doctors in the highly effective and minimally invasive Ponseti Method, we aim to cultivate skilled practitioners and medical trainers while ensuring quality care through supportive supervision. Together, we aspire to enhance the well-being of children with clubfoot and empower them to lead fulfilling lives.

Anushkaa Foundation for Eliminating Clubfoot (AFEC) is working to ensure that no child grows up disabled as a result of being born with clubfoot.
