Hi Sukhdeep, There can be various reasons like hormonal imbalance, dry lips, excessive iron intake, smoking, old or expired lip care products or lipsticks, vitamin B deficiency, sunburned, some medications, skin diseases of the lips, etc.Exfoliation removes the dull, dead and dark skin cells of the lips. Regular exfoliation prevents the formation of dark spots on the lips.
