Before choosing a foundation, it&rsquo;s very important to determine your undertone. There are three different undertones - cool, warm, and neutral. If you have blue or purple veins its cool undertone, if it's yellow or olive its warm undertone and if you have both blue and olive veins it's neutral undertone.

Step two is determining your skin tone. Your skin tone is different from your undertone. It&rsquo;s the shade of your skin (light, medium, or dark).

And finally, look for the right formula for your skin type which could be normal, dry or oily, if you have dry skin use some moisturizing and hydrating foundation and if oily use the mattifying foundation that controls excess oil secretion.
