Foundations typically are used to even-out your skin tone, so the type you should buy will depend on the degree of coverage and finish you want. For instance, if your complexion is patchy, you may need a heavier, oil-based foundation for maximum coverage. Others with just minor variations in skin tone could use a lighter, water-based foundation. For some lucky women with near-perfect complexions, just using the newer ‘tinted moisturizers’ or BB creams are enough to add some color.
