That's true! Mascara formulation is only supposed to stay good for 3-5 months. Every time you open the bottle, you are basically pumping air in and it can lead to bacteria accumulation. Eyes are sensitive and using expired mascara can lead to infections and yes, you should throw out your mascara after 3 months once opened even if you haven't used it much.

If u r not allergic prone. . at your own risk u can use. Generally ppl do use. But if u r wearing contact lenses or have any eye infection history please dont!

It has to do with infections..so if you have opened it you are supposed go to throw it away after 3 months. I don't do that however because i love when the mascara has become a little drier. It should be ok but do so at your own risk!

Every mascara has an expiry date, if it crosses it don't use it as it deals with the eye and using after expiry maylead to infection
