Maybelline color jolt lip paint- How Bare You

Question

I purchased maybelline color jolt matte lip color when nykaa pink sale was live. The formulation is really creamy and texture is a bit shiny.  Shine is not overpowering and it gives lips a subtle look. However the shade "How Bare You" doesn't suit my skin tone. It is making me look darker. The shade is looking completely different on skin and on lips. I wonder why as I don't have darker lips!

A good purchase if you get some discount on it because paying 400 for such small quantity won't be a good idea.
