Rubbing any kind of acid on them will make them weaker and brittle. Take Vitamin E and Biotin supplements and avoid exposing your hands and nails to water and soap for too long. You should also use a sunscreen on your hands whenever you go out in the sun. Adopt a healthy balanced diet. If the problem persists, see a Dermatologist.
