We’ve heard about face contouring, nose contouring, even leg contouring. But the latest contour craze in town is lip contouring. What’s that? The makeup trend to fake big, natural-looking lips without harsh lines or looking like a clown. Celebrities everywhere are sporting fuller lips but the technique isn’t just a matter of coloring outside your regular lip line but actually boosting the size and shape of your lips to add dimension and fullness. So whether you want fuller, matte and nude lips or a luscious pout, here’s your go-to guide to sport the perfect, voluptuously contoured mouth. Read on to find out how to contour your lips…
You will need
• Concealer
• Lip Liner 1 – Light Shade
• Lip liner 2 – Dark Shade
• Lipstick
• Lip Gloss (optional)
• Lip Liner 1 – Light Shade

Select a color
It’s recommended to use neutral, blush tone, brown or nude color. Natural or lighter colors are naturally illuminating while darker colors are naturally slimming, not the look you’re after. Also, it is easier to blend and work with these colors. Once you’ve aced the look you could try your hand at darker, bolder colors.
Prep
Contoured lips are bold and in your face. So cracks and flaking skin are a complete no-no. Prep in advance by exfoliating and moisturizing your lips.
Coverage
Begin by applying concealer on your lips. This will allow lipstick to stick to your lips better and give you an even base to work with. This step also helps to cover up lip discoloration. We used Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer.
Line your lips
Start lining your lips with the lighter lip liner, starting a little outside your natural lip line. Fill in your lips with the light lip liner. We used L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lip Liner – Nude
Contour
Start by filling the corners of your lips midway through, using the darker lip liner (see image 2 for reference). Draw threes lines on the bottom lip and two lines on your upper lip. (see image 3 for reference). We used L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lip Liner – Brown.
Fill in
Now fill in your lips with lipstick. Make sure you blend the lipstick well. You don’t want the harsh lines to be visible. We used L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick - R511 Maple Mocha.
Finishing touches
You could either leave the look as is or swipe on a coat of lip gloss to plump up your lips even more. This will add shine and illusion to your lips, making them look bigger. We used Coloressence Liquid Lip Color – Crystal Look.
